Remembering Daniel E. Schneider

Daniel Schneider, age 75, of Grandville, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Daniel was a reliable and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was a steady and cherished presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was truly the anchor of his family—a man who could always be counted on and whose calm, level-headed, and wise nature brought strength and reassurance to those around him.

Daniel loved spending time outdoors, especially at the family cottage on Crawford Lake. Some of his favorite memories were made there with family and friends, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors and the simple pleasures of time together. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time on the water in his pontoon boat. A hardworking and skilled man, Daniel was a business owner and master electrician with J and B Electric. He took great pride in his work and in life, he built through years of dedication and commitment.

Those who knew Daniel will remember him not only for his reliability and wisdom, but also for his wonderful laugh and his ability to enjoy a good time with friends and family. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome, and his presence brought a sense of steadiness and joy wherever he went. Above all, Daniel treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His family could always lean on him, knowing he would be there when they needed him. His steady presence, good humor, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Therese Schneider, and brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Lynn Schneider. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Marva Schneider; children, Travis and Shannon Schneider, Heather Levandowski, Josh and Shanna Schneider; grandchildren: Keaton and Madeline Schneider, Payton Levandowski, Mason and Megan Schneider, Morgan Schneider, Braden Levandowski, Blair Schneider, Owen Schneider, Taylor Schneider, Adelyn Schneider; great-grandchildren: Maverick, Aspen, Haven, Marshall, and two additional baby girls on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Larkin, Terri and Doug Hills, Paul and Linda Schneider, Carl and Wendy Schneider, Ted and Sheila Schneider, and Jane Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St. Hudsonville. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday, September 10 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home and on Friday from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
