Dale E. Borst

Dale E. Borst, age 90, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2020. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty and his second wife, Evelyn; and his son, David Borst. He will be lovingly remembered by his step children, Grant and Leisa Holst, Terri Holst, Wanda and John Lundin, Todd and Lisa Holst; sisters; June Primus, Ruth Ann and Edwin Baker, Marcia and John Pylman, Mary and Paul Mitchell; sister-in-law, Karen Postema; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2 pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Brookside Christian Reformed Church, 3600 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Grand Rapids with Rev. Paul DeVries officiating. Burial Blain Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 12 to 1:45 pm at the church prior to the service. In consideration of others, please wear a mask. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Kindred Hospice or Sakshaug Group Home LLC (9371 Westview Dr. SE, Byron Center, MI 49315).

Dear June, Ruthann, Mary and Marsha, Your kind, gentle brother is home with the Lord. You will miss him because he loved all of you and he was so much like your Dad. I well remember being in your home when we were young students at South West Chr. and members of Bethel church. Fond memories .Arnie and I intended to visit you personally but , with covid cases rising, we are staying away from large gatherings. To All who loved Uncle Dale: he is cherished as a patient, loving uncle to me and my family. He loved to share his witty humor, and would always be interested in my and my family’s lives. Thank you, Mary and Marcia and husbands and families for making his last months of life secure with loving care every minute, and also to Aunt Evie’s family for including him into their families the past 8 years. His Christian faith was displayed throughout his life with Aunt Betty, David, and all.

Dear Mary and Marcia, My sympathies on the death of Dale. My memories come from being a "hero worshipper" of Dale when I saw him delivering the GR Press along Martindale. He had the canvas Press bag hung from the wide handle bars and would stop to talk to me when I asked him if I could help him deliver the papers. I really wanted to take over his route some day I must have bee 8 or 9 years old. Fond memories. We will remember him when we visit several of Char's family members' graves ,also in Blain Cemetery.
