Dale Clyde Dykema, age 92, of Jenison, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Dale proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an accomplished stone mason and bricklayer for most of his life. After retiring he used those skills on many missions trips in the US and other countries. He also enjoyed golfing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 1/2 years, Gertrude; children: Thomas and Kitty Dykema, Michael and Janet Dykema, Janice and David Dyk, Joyce and Bernie Byker; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ed and Normalea Dykema, John and Joan Dykema; sister-in-law, Mary Regts; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Betty Dykema; daughter-in-law, Dawn Dykema; grandson, Jared; brother-in-law, Gerald Regts. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dale Fopma officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Rehoboth Christian School or Zuni Christian Mission School
