Crissy Lynn (George) Klemkosky, age 65, of Middleville, Michigan, was called to her heavenly home on August 22, 2024. She was born on February 5, 1959, in Alpena, Michigan, to Dick and Beatrice (Huffman) George. She grew up in Lincoln, Michigan, on her family’s small farm. She eventually moved to Gaylord where she met her husband, Dennis Klemkosky, and they were married on June 17, 1983.
Crissy graduated from Great Lakes Junior College in Midland and worked as a paralegal for many years. She enjoyed camping, especially with her parents and siblings on her family’s property (known as “The 60”), traveling, boating, tubing or kayaking down the river, cooking and baking, vegetable gardening and canning, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was always up for an adventure and trying something new. She also got into competitive trapshooting and eventually became a charter member and treasurer at the Caledonia Sportsman’s Club. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she looked forward to spending the day with her kids and grandkids all year, had an extensive Santa collection, and could be found watching Hallmark Christmas movies year-round.
No matter the adversity she faced, she persevered and worked hard to give herself and her kids a great life, especially after her husband, Dennis, unexpectedly passed away in 1993 leaving her to raise her two young children on her own. Crissy always had a smile on her face and will be remembered as a caring, generous, kind and loving mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
Crissy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; brother, Walter; brother-in-law, Steve Kowalewsky; father-in-law, Charles Klemkosky; and mother-in-law, Genevieve Klemkosky. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her children, Trevor (Sarah) Klemkosky and Heather (Caleb) Thompson; grandchildren, Gwen, Reese, Trevor Jr., Jace and Mila; her parents, Dick and Beatrice George; brother, Clint (Vicky) George; sister, Wendy Kowalewsky; as well as her step-children and grandchildren, extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
It was Crissy’s wish to be cremated with her ashes to be placed on “The 60” where her husband’s ashes were also placed 31 years ago. A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
