Cordelia “Dely” “Connie” DeBlaey, aged 97 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Sheboygan, WI went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Derwin; and brothers, Bob and Bernard VandeGuchte. She is survived by her children, Tom DeBlaey, Joyce (Tom) Waalkes, Peggy (Roy) Heerema; eight grandchildren, Scott (Michele) Waalkes, Kristi (Jim) Scheneman, Tim (Jen) Waalkes, Steve (Bek) Waalkes, Mike (Sara) Heerema, Kevin (Yvonne) Heerema, Julie (Derek) Ferwerda, Chris Heerema; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Jack) Knosher; brothers, Rev. Howard (Ginny) VandeGuchte, Chris (Janet) VandeGuchte; and many nephews and nieces. She actively volunteered at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, was president of the ladies auxiliary and member of Princeton CRC. Funeral services for Connie will be held Monday at 11 am at Princeton CRC, 5330 Kalmazoo Ave. SE. Interment in Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo, MI. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE Sunday 2-5 pm and Monday at church from 10-11 am. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Princeton Christian Reformed Church.
