Constance M. Hess

Constance M. (Walczewski) Hess, age 97, a devoted Catholic has risen to the Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Those who knew Connie admired her for her positive personality. She was successful in all that she did from being a loving wife and mother, to her involvement in volunteer programs, many clubs and as a member of the Polish Heritage Society. She and her husband, Bernard, traveled all over the U.S. Their love of square dancing led them to retire in Texas. She loved all the friends she made at Covenant Village over the last 8 years. We will miss her enthusiasm, winning smile and friendship. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bernard and her great grandson, Darren Hoexum. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Charlene and Robert Czarnecki, Janice and Kenneth Hoexum, Peter and Rosemary Hess; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kevin and Christy Czarnecki (Ainsley, Scarlett), Michelle Hoexum, Bryan and Cyndy Hoexum (Jacob, Owen), Christopher and Heather Hoexum (George, Preston, Harley), Eva and Major Chris Orlowski (Henry, Neil), Dorothy and Dan Yousef, Ivyrose and James Likis, and Benjamin Hess.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday 11 am at the Parish of the Holy Spirit, 2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, with Fr. John Vallier and Fr. Donald Weber Celebrants. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to San Juan Diego School at Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
