Clara Boersma

Clara Ann (Bruin) Boersma, age 83, formerly of Lowell, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 11, 2021, is now united again with her husband of 60 years, Robert. Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved her family. She was an active member of Calvary Church in Lowell over the years, serving her Lord with her time and talents in many ways. Clara worked for many years at Lowell Schools in the reading department, blessing numerous children by helping them learn to read. She loved to be outdoors tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. As an avid animal lover, many pets were enjoyed with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda and Michael Mooney, Debra Steenwyk, Judith and Dave DeWaard, Robert A. Boersma; grandchildren, Sean and Whitney Mooney, Sarah and Benjamin Scheffers, Matthew and Cassidy Steenwyk, Melissa Steenwyk, Kathleen and Derrick Williams, Kristine and Nicolas Hardy, Rachel and Ben Vanderput, Josh DeWaard, Braden and Rebekah Boersma, Serena Boersma; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond and Pat Bruin, Jack and Vivian Bruin; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Don Kotsier, Jean Bruin, and Lisa Bruin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear lifelong friends. Per Clara’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be determined at a later date. For those who wish, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to Spectrum Health Hospice or to Baruch Senior Ministries.
