Christopher Douglas Anthony

Anthony, Christopher Douglas Our precious son, Christopher Douglas Anthony, aged 30,passed away very unexpectedly on Friday, January 11, 2013. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Douglas R. Anthony and Laura M. Devries. Chris brought so much joy and happiness to those whose lives he touched. He was very proud of making the president’s list or dean’s list at the community college in his pursuit to become a pharmacist. Chris had a love for cars and soccer but his true passion was fishing and his spare time was spent on the Coldwater River or on his boat in Lake Michigan. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Douglas and Laura; his sister, Tara (Jason); his niece and nephew, Isabella and Alex; grandparents, Daniel and Laura Breuker, Walter and Elsie Anthony, William Dias; several aunts, uncles, cousins and amazing friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John P. Devries and grandmother, Phyllis F. Dias. Funeral services for Christopher will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm at Kentwood Community Church, 1200 – 60th St. SE with Fr. Patrick Grile officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Wednesday from 2-3 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the family to offset funeral expenses.

Doug, Laura and Tara, You are especially in our prayers as we all mourn Chris's untimely death. It is our hope that the memory of what a blessing it was to have Chris as a son and brother will guide you through this tragic loss and all the emotions that will come.
