Andrakowicz-Herrera, Christine Christine Andrakowicz-Herrera was welcomed into heaven as its newest angel on Saturday, March 29. She was a fierce cancer warrior, battling a rare form for nearly four years and leaves us far too young at 44 years of age. She is now reunited with her beloved father, Walter Andrakowicz, who was her cancer buddy as they were diagnosed within six weeks of each other. Her life is celebrated by so many: Her husband, Manuel, the love of her life. He devoted himself to caring for her, never letting her spend a single night in the hospital alone. Her loving mother, Alice Andrakowicz. Her devoted sisters and best friends, Jane, Mary (Paul), Michelle and her dear brothers, Tom (Apple), Gary (Laura), Steve (Pam) and Dan (Pat). She was adored by her in-laws, Manuel and Dolores, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Christy was a court reporter for Network Reporting. A talented baker, her Christmas cookie baskets were coveted by many and won an award from a major magazine. She had a great sense of humor and shared the gift of laughter with us all. She had a special place in her heart for rescue cats. We wish to thank so many of her supporters who never wavered in their dedication to helping her along her journey. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening 6-9 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. The family suggests memorials to The Lustgarten Foundation which is working to develop a cure for pancreatic cancer. A heart beats only so many times in a life. Christy used hers more than anyone we know.

Our deepest sympathies to the Andrakowicz Family. We knew Christy as a very little girl. She and her big sister, Michelle, would play for hours with our daughter Peg, their next door neighbor. We have lots of good memories of those days and will hold them in our hearts forever. Christy fought a good battle and now is at Peace with her Dad. May she rest in Peace for eternity. Barb West

Our deepest sympathy to our dear friends, Paul and Mary Sipes, to the Andrakowicz family, and to Christy’s extended family of choice in this life, the Herrera family. Though saddened by Christy’s passing, we know that she is now, and will be forever more, at peace. Such a lovely remembrance by her family: “A heart beats only so many times in a life. Christy used hers more than anyone we know.” Michael & Rebecca Hulea

My deepest sympathy to the Andrakowicz Family for their loss. Christine was a little child when we lived as neighbors on Balsam Ave and I only remember her a little bit. But, I knew Alice and Walt and the older siblings. I graduated with Gary and on his and their behalf I offer my deepest sentiments. I also lost a brother and maybe the old neighbors are getting reacquainted in heaven..can't wait for the block party there will be when we all get home... Anna Leale Platt
