Christell Carl Erickson

Christell “Carl” Erickson, age 86, of Belmont, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He proudly served in the US Navy. Carl enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He loved sports, especially supporting his favorite teams: MSU Spartans and Detroit Tigers. Carl loved playing pool and shuffleboard with his friends. He cherished his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert and Nancy Erickson. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Helen; children, Randy Erickson, Coy Erickson, Tammy and Rick Williams, Kim and Cameran Davey; stepchildren, Dennis and Sheila Gillean, Susan and Tony Messing, David and Suzy Gillean, Karen and Tony Bouma, Ruth and William Landers, Doug and Jayne Gillean; grandchildren, Talon, Kayla, Chelsea, Abby, Tristen, and Devon; three great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1pm Friday, August 30, 2024 at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with Rev. Tim Anderson officiating.  Burial will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 12-1pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice for their wonderful care to Carl.
