He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Sylvia; and daughter, Jeanne Palcowski. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Margaret; children, Douglas Van Tuinen, Lea Ann Long, Yvonne (Arthur) Koehler; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sister, Carol McCall. Chet proudly served his country with the Army National Guard, US Army and Army Reserves spanning a total of 8 years. He retired from the Kent County Road Commission after 38 years.
