KELAVA, CHERYL Cheryl L. (Butler) Kelava, age 71, of Allendale passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 and has finally caught up to her loving husband of 50 years, James, who passed away on March 8, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Squires, Jerry Squires, Michael Butler, Donald Butler, Doran Butler, Robert Butler; sisters, Bernadine Butler, Beverly Evans; brother-in-law, Robert Kelava. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michelle Kelava, Michael and Jennifer Kelava; grandchildren, Anthony Ogg, Matthew Ogg, Kaleb Copeland, Olivia Copeland, Santana Samora, Chaya Samora, Alyssa and Saul Hilliker, Brittyn and Spencer Brandon, Sarita Samora, Spencer Kelava, Logan Kelava; great-granddaughter, Alice Hawley; great-grandson, Cyren Hilliker; brothers, Norm and Lilibeth Butler, Harold Butler; sisters-in-law, Ruth Squires, Betty Kelava; many nieces and nephews. Cheryl was born and raised in Muskegon and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1968. She was a longtime nurse's aide retiring from Allendale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 24th, 7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. with Gary Jarvis of South Blendon Reformed Church officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 4:30 - 7 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
