Charlotte Hessel

Charlotte Hessel, age 85, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, traveling to Casinos, playing bingo, and collecting Precious Moments figurines. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Max Hessel; sons, Frank Hessel and Randy Hessel; mother, Alice Hamiton; sisters, Elaine Hicks, Margie Rochette, and Helen Enos. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Tim and Sandy Hessel; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hessel, grandchildren, Grant and Jenni Hessel, Jessie Hessel, Annie and Mike Prins, Parker and Kathleen Hessel, Emily and John Kersaan, Tyler and Meghen Hessel, Adam Hessel; 14 great-grandchildren; best friend, Sherry VanderMaas; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 28 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Don Van Slyke officiating. Burial Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, April 27 from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
