Charles W. “Bill” Vajda, age 78, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 19, 2021, with his loving wife by his side. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Patricia Zink; children, Greg Vajda and his special friend, Amy Ballas, Michelle Maly; stepchildren, Deb and Todd Rindfield, Brian and Jen Elders, Susan Zink and her special friend, Dennis Gossage; step grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan VanderGraaf, Kristina and Stuart Colby, Matthew Dawson, Simon Kragt, Olivia Kragt, Emma Elders, Jared Zink; eight step great-grandchildren; brothers, Cary and Sally, Gary and Marlene, David and Barb, Tom and Julie, Matt and Judy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom and Carolyn Woudwyk, Steve and Charlene Woudwyk, Kathy Woudwyk; and many nieces and nephews. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.

To Greg... your dad was one of the most kindest loving man I have ever met in my life. I will miss his good afternoon or good evening as he answered the phone. When he knew it was me? He would say “well hello pretty lady”! That meant the world to me! When we would hit up the casino? I would ask how did you do? He would say I’m up a little or I’m down a little ..... good times! To his brothers? I’m so sorry for your loss. And to Greg? I’m very sorry for your loss! Your dad? Is looking down on you and protecting you with his wings he now has.

When I read Bill's obituary on Sunday, time seemed to stop for a moment. I fondly recalled Bill's wide, generous smile and laugh. I worked with him for 31 years and I do not recall a day when we was not generous in his time to talk or without a smile.

Pat and family, I was sad to hear about Bill in church yesterday. We had a lot of fun golfing and singing together over the years. He always had a good word for someone, and it was a pleasure to be his friend. My deepest sympathies and prayers for all of you.
