Charles “Skip” Leyen

Charles “Skip” J. Leyen, age 91, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Leyen, sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Ken DeYoung. Skip will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Hope; children, Mark and Holly Leyen, Tim and Erin Leyen; grandchildren, Malachi, Chloe, Ainsley, and Aleya; many nieces and nephews. Skip proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and proprietor of the long-time family business, Leyen and Son Meats. Skip was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and snorkeling and was a member of Calvary Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2 pm at Calvary Church, 707 E. Beltline NE, Grand Rapids. Burial Georgetown Cemetery.
