Remembering Charles Fredrick Jacobson

Charles Fredrick Jacobson, age 80, of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Born March 15, 1943 in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In 1971, he started his own company, Jacobson Concrete Construction. He loved traveling and spending winters in Florida with his wife, Marcia. He enjoyed spending time on the farm and loved his John Deere tractors. He found a passion in making and teaching stained glass art. He proudly served in the US Army. He also was a boy scout leader for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Floyd Jacobson; his first wife, Marcia Helen Jacobson. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Marcia Joy Jacobson; children, Jon and Sherry Jacobson, Jackie and Doug Beland, Jeff Jacobson, Jason Jacobson and Shanna Reynolds, Hal Ladner, Jim and KrisAnn Ladner; daughter-in-law, Missy Jacobson; 12 grandchildren, Cassidy, Sydney, Austin, Alexis, Ali, Alexander Charles, Aiden, Kelsey, Hailey, Adam, Lauren, and Abbie; brothers, Lloyd “Pike’’ and Marilyn Jacobson, Roger and Kathy Jacobson; sisters-in-law, Marge and David Westover, Juanita Hooker, Myrna and Willie Smith; special friends, Pat and George Knapp; many nieces and nephews; dogs, Bailey, Macey; and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, at 11 a.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, January 26, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Michigan Disabled American Veterans, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the Salvation Army Camp.
