Charles Ezinga, age 89, of Kentwood, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Irene Ezinga; son, Baby Timothy Ezinga; sister-in-law, Kay Van Rees, brother-in-law, Donald Marsh. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Charlene; children, Thomas Ezinga, James and Julie Ezinga, Caren and Lindsay Whaley, Joel and Kristi Ezinga; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Marsh; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He served our country in the U.S. Army as a surgical technician. Charles was a warm, loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was dedicated to attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and school activities and coached his children in basketball and baseball. Chuck was described as “easy to be with.” He was a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church. He was very active with his children and grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 11 am Saturday, February 11 at Princeton Christian Reformed Church, 5330 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Steve Hull officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to a Christian school of one’s choice or Princeton Christian Reformed Church Cadets.
