Charles B. Zalewski, 88, of Wyoming MI, went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 21, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. Zalewski and Bernie A. (Czyzyk) Zalewski, his son, Steven Joseph Zalewski, and granddaughter, Sara Rose Zalewski. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 67 years, Mary (Spicuzza) Zalewski; sons, Michael (Ruth Ann) Zalewski, Pat Zalewski; daughters, Barb (Ron) Gallert, Kelli (Mike) Biesbrock; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ann Zajaczkowski, Ruth Spicuzza; his dog, a furry dear friend, Heidi (preceded by Pepper). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, with Msgr. Bill Duncan presiding. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a vigil service at 8 pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mary,read Chuck's Obit in Sunday's Press. So sorry for your loss. It has been a while since being in touch with you since our days in FL at RP. You both were so welcoming to us .Bev passed after 55 years together in 2017 after 5 years with dementia. My prayer is that knowing others share with your family in your loss will in someway lighten your burden at this time.

I (Patti) remember going to their house and hearing Chuck always calling Mary "Doll". That is how special she was to him. I spent a lot of time at their house as Barbie is my best friend. Not one time did I ever see or hear Chuck raise his voice. He was one special man. I know he is up in Heaven right now rejoicing with the Lord, many family members and dear friends. I love you daddy. I’m going to miss all of your corny jokes lol, your laugh, your smile but I will miss your love, kisses and hugs you gave me every time I saw you. Dad, I’m so happy that you went home to your eternal home and you are pain free. I’m sorry you thought you were a burden when we helped you out. You were never a burden and you never had to thank us. We would do anything for you and mom. You took care of us when we were married and beyond and now it was Ron and my turn to take care of you. I can remember when Jason was very sick you went in the bathroom and steamed it up so he could breathe better. The many times you fixed our car, washer, dryer or electrical. You did so much for Ron and I that doing the things we did for you and mom was out our love for the both of you. We were very blessed to have you as long as we did and I will miss you dearly. I love you daddy for eternity ❤️
