Charlene M. McDonald

Charlene May McDonald (Gust), age 78 of Grand Rapids, entered into the pearly gates on Thursday, June 4, 2015. She now joins her children, Karen and Bill and brother, Dean. Surviving are her children, Steve McDonald, Nancy (Duane) Woodwyk; daughter-in-law, Kim McDonald; her loving dog, Sandidee; grandchildren, Matthew (Jen), Brandon (Christa), Melissa (Ryan), Alicia, Timmy, Justin, Brian, Drew, Missy (Don); 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Chuck (Evalyn) Gust, Linda Ketchapaw; sister-in-law, Maureen Gust; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Charlene proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was past commander of AmVet Post 126 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Charlene loved her grandbabies and family. Her favorite pastimes included camping, fishing and playing Bingo. She was a very generous person, whose generosity knew no bounds. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1630 Godfrey SW with Fr. Stephen Dudek presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends Sunday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a vigil service at 7:30pm. A time of visitation will also be Monday 10-11am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kent County Humane Society.
