Celia Joyce Biener

Celia Biener, 94, of Belmont, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Celia was a proud Yooper, born and raised in Iron Mountain, and she was especially known for her pasties—real pasties, just the way they were meant to be made.

Celia loved to play Duplicate Bridge with her husband. She filled her time with crossword puzzles, knitting a new project, and watching her loving grandchildren play sports. She spent her winters in the Florida Keys. Celia will be remembered as the sweetest person and a fantastic grandmother.  

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, William Biener and his wife, Karen; daughter, Krista Biener; son-in-law, John Trevillion; grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa (Missy), and Maclyn; brother-in-law, Jim Biener, and nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Carlson and her mother, Clara Dohrmann Carlson; husband, John “Mac” Biener; daughter, Cynthia Trevillion, and her six sisters and three brothers.  

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
