Catherine Swain

SWAIN - Mrs. Catherine D. Swain, aged 93, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Swain; grandson, Thomas VanGessel; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters. Surviving are her children, Patricia Dietz, Sally (Tom) VanGessel, Darlene (Daniel K. Sr.) Gerke, Kenneth D. (Kathy) Swain, Catherine Ann (Michael) Beemblossom; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; one great great grandchild on the way. Catherine attended St. Frances Church. She loved to sing, dance and swim, enjoyed crossword puzzles and old movies. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28 at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton St. SE. The family will greet relatives and friends 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. and one hour prior to Mass at church. Prayers of the rosary will be recited 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or Our Lady of Snows.
