Catherine Delacourt McPhail

Catherine Delacourt McPhail (Rena), age 95, of Kentwood, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, even if just “bumming” together. Known as “Scottie,” she was proud of her Scottish heritage, fondly remembering the landscape and the heather on the hills. It “never rained” there when she would visit. She was also a risk taker, even taking 3 kids across the country in one car with no air conditioning. Catherine ran an office for many years and was still active online until the end. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Emma Grayce; parents, James and Christine Sanderson; siblings: Jack, James, Alec, Ella, and Mary. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Christine and Michael Wolski, Liz and Nick Iuelle, Jim McPhail; grandchildren: Stephanie McPhail and her sister, Heather Martin, Megan Iuelle, Ashley Barnett, Alison Iuelle; great grandchildren: Dominic Falbe, Anthony Falbe, Kailani Barnett, Autumn VanDrunen, Brooklyn Kamphuis, Taylor Kamphuis; many nieces and nephews. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be buried in her hometown back in Glasgow, Scotland. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
