Carolyn Louise Richer

Carolyn Louise Richer, age 74 of Grand Rapids, passed quietly into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Mark and husband of 26 years, William P. Richer. She will be dearly missed by her son, Matthew (Marji) Waldron; grandchildren, Hayleé (Alex) Prather, Mason Waldron, Mallory Waldron, Zach Grube; great-granddaughter, Madalyn; step-children, Denise (Wayne) Slooter, Bev Richer, John (Rosalee) Richer; step-grandchildren, Holly, Chelsea, Travis, Michael, Alyssa; sister, Katherine (James) Slaasted; several maternal aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and Peggy (Jim) Vander Maas. Carolyn was a kind, giving woman who delighted in helping others with a servant’s heart. She enjoyed sleep-overs with her granddaughters and loved baking and cooking for her family and others. Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Rev. Scott Otis officiating. Interment Palo Cemetery. The family will meet visitors Friday 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

I was so sorry to hear that Carolyn had passed away. I had not seen her in several years, but did work with her for many years at Standard Lumber. She was always a lady, very sweet and I enjoyed her friendship. She was always talking about the grandkids and I know she treasured her family very much. She will always be with you if you hold your memories close.

Carolyn, Will miss our talks, laughs ( I loved your laugh and used to get you to laugh on purpose-it was a joyful sound). I missed being able to spend time, laughing and shopping and having lunch. remember the crazy times you and Shirl and I had. You'll be missed, loved and remembered by a lot of friends and family.
