Remembering Carolina G. Alvarez

Carolina G. Alvarez, age 78, of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2020.  Carole worked many years as a cashier at Eberhard’s Grocery Store. She loved to smile and laugh, but she loved spending time with her family most of all.  She also enjoyed her Western TV shows and listening to Mexican music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Alvarez; siblings: Tiburico, Paul Jr., David, Delia, Delfa, Angie, Chris, Joe, Pete, Daniel. She will be lovingly remembered by her children:  J. Devon Alvarez, David Alvarez, Michelle (Mike) Burns, Angela Alvarez; grandchildren: Jazzmin Evans, Angelina Arnold, Evan Burns, Thomas Burns, Robert Alvarez, Jamie Alvarez; sister, Pat Deanda; many nieces and nephews. A private funeral will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Kentwood (follow on livestream 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9 at https://www.facebook.com/pg/MatthysseKuiperDeGraaf/posts/?ref=page_internal.  Burial Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com or delivered to MKD Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, MI  49508.

Tee, although you may no longer be with us the great memories I was able to make with you will stay with me for a lifetime. I will always remember her as a loving, fun, and just an amazing person to be around. She could make anyone laugh, she would always think of others first. If I wanted to do something she would do it without hesitation. I remember when she would sit outside with me for hours just watching me play and talking with me. She was a very caring person and I will miss her greatly.

To know her was to love her. Everyone she met became a friend. She was easy to talk to and totally interested in what you had to say. We have wonderful memories of our times together, meals shared and holidays shared. We will miss her greatly.

Even though we are not biological family. My family is thought of as family by the Burns, Carol and Angie. She treated of our Eli like a grandson. My husband Will would always tease Carol and she would just laugh. I was close to Carol and had many talks about different subjects. We had something in common the love for GOD. I agree with the other condolences that heaven got an angel. Also, mentioned was her laugh and always fun. In deed she was. She will be deeply missed by our family and will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to Michelle, Mike, Evan, Thomas, Angie, Jazzmin and Angelina. This is not goodbye. This is just a temporary separation until we meet again in Heaven. Love to you all, The Trueloves

It breaks my heart to lose you, and I’m so sad that I’m unable to attend your funeral. I can only imagine my Brother Joe greeting you with open arms, you were the love of his life. I’m going to miss our phone calls, where we’d laugh, cry a little as we walked down memory lane. You told me on your last birthday this March 7th that for your next birthday you wanted to go to San Antonio one last time, and I told you I’d send you the ticket. I am saddened by the loss of your mom, grandma and my friend. We did a lot together especially take care of each other’s kids. We laughed, shed tears, looked and got into trouble, but mostly knew that we covered each other’s back, and were confidantes. We take to our graves the good and the bad and the great secrets we shared. But mostly was the love we had for our own, and each other’s kids.
