Hammond, Carole Sue Carole Sue Hammond, age 77, of Caledonia, formerly of Wall Lake (Delton) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Harter, brother, Charles Harter Jr. Carole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family.  She was self-less and giving, always putting others before herself.  As a strong woman of faith, she persevered through her battle with cancer and was at peace with her Lord.  She enjoyed many hobbies and passions including golf, playing bridge, bowling and cooking. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Bud Hammond; children, Kathie and Ted Vaughn of Caledonia, Kerry (Michele) Hammond of Hollywood, FL, Kevin and Teri Hammond of Plainwell; 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren,1 great grandchild; sisters, Jackie Morrical, Linda and Bob Marcantonio, Sally and Steve Longerbone and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday 12 noon at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf  Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. Kentwood with Pastor Robert Norton officiating where a luncheon will be held immediately following.  Relatives and friends may meet the family 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
