Carol Owens

Owens - Carol E. Owens aged 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Emma Mehlhoff; infant brother, George; sister and brother-in-law, Esther (Kenny) Jurmu; brother, Richard; beloved grandson, Mark Albert Minnema Jr. She is survived by her dear companion of 30 years Gregory (Tom) Carlson; children, Sandra (Dewey McGormley) Morgan, Mark Owens, Julie (Milo) Boyce, Lisa (Bob) Milan, Michael (Myrna) Owens; Grandchildren, Jenny Wasker, Jason Boyce, Sarah (Dustin) Rodery, Justin Linsea, Jaclyn (Joshua) Smith, Cheryl Owens, Angela Owens, Anthony Owens, Mila Boyce, Mary Owens, Joseph Owens, Faustina Owens; 7 Great Grandchildren; sister, Barbara Hasan. Carol worked in the service industry, which included the Elyria Country Club in Ohio, at the Knife and Fork in the Old Pantlind Hotel, Hilton's Spinnaker Restaurant and Visiting Nurses. Carol lived on the south side of Grand Rapids from 1971-2013, where she enjoyed the diversity of the city. She loved animals and gave to the Humane Society, which is where she got her beloved Lucky and Libby. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 17, 2017 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., Wyoming, MI with visitation one hour prior to the service.
