Carol McDonell

Carol Jean McDonell, age 74, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 30, 2021. Carol’s family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed spending time at her trailer in Bitely, crocheting for family, and doing puzzle books. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dick “Mac” McDonell; her parents, James and Ruth Olsen; two sisters, Sharon and Lyle Willett, and Terry Kent; parents-in-law, William and Roberta McDonell; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Sturgeon, and Elaine Burgin. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim McDonell, Anna McDonell; grandchildren, Jimmy, Matthew, Izzy, and Joey; two great-granddaughters, Moonflower, and Emberley; sisters and brothers, Cathy Olsen, Bobby Olsen, Wendy and Estel Lang, Kerry and Ellen Kent, Arlene and Darrin Proffitt, Richard Kent; sisters-in-law, Linda and Lynn Bolser, Diane and Ron Lambert, Debra and Jim McDonell, Vicki McDonell; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many dear friends. Private family services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed on the funeral home website by clicking on the “live streams and recordings” tab. The burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, May 4, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
