Carol Louise DeWeerd, age 74, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Carol earned a master’s degree in Speech Pathology and enjoyed working with children throughout her career. After retirement, she volunteered with Spectrum Health and also loved to spend time golfing and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill. Surviving are her children and grandchildren, Cristin and Kirt Zuiderveen (Jack, Will), Amy and Jason McGovern (Zane, Luke); brother, Roger and Jenna Olson; sister-in-law, Sherry and Ron Goodyke; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Georgetown United Methodist, 2766 Baldwin, St., Jenison, with Rev. Sherri Swanson officiating. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, July 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
