Carol Knoper

Carol Jean (Behrens) Knoper, age 84, of Allendale, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Behrens; and her siblings, Arlene and Roger Groendyk, and Ward Behrens. Carol was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dearly loved her family. She was a longtime member of First Allendale Christian Reformed Church where she served with her time and talents in many ways. Carol was blessed with the gift of creating beautiful flower arrangements for which she won many awards. Her creative talents also included decorating and painting beautiful floral and nature pictures. Over the years, Carol and her husband were avid travelers, allowing them to reach all 50 states. Above all, her gentle spirit, and her love for the Lord and her family will be forever cherished. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Larry Knoper; children, Laural and John Herrick, Randy and Gretchen Knoper, Lynn and Bob Looman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne and Thurlene Behrens, Ward’s wife, Judith Behrens, Lorraine (Mike - deceased) Everett, Betty and Earl Hall, Jerry and Mary Behrens; and many loving extended family and friends. A memorial visitation to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf, 6651 Scott St., Allendale. A private family graveside service will be held at Allendale Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Love INC of Allendale.
