Carol Headley

Carol Headley, age 88, of Allendale, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Carol was a lifelong member of Ottawa Reformed Church where she faithfully served as organist for 65 years. She was very active in the women’s groups and enjoyed attending many RCW Triennials. Carol was a Kids Hope mentor, avid reader, and enjoyed bowling into her 80’s. For 40 years Carol kept a diary. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; son, Lynn; and her three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Jan and Terry Metten of Baldwin, Karen Headley of Spring Lake, Steve Headley and Brenda DeVries of Allendale, Wayne and Sue Headley of Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. The funeral service to honor Carol’s faith and life will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Ottawa Reformed Church, 11390 Stanton St., West Olive, 49460. Rev. Michael Van Buren will officiate. Interment will be in Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, August 31, from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.
