Carol   Essenburg

Essenburg, Carol Carol Essenburg, age 74, of Grandville, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 11, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert; her children, Gayle and Eric Ermer, Bev and Steve Harkema, Karl and Jill Essenburg, Cheryl and Dave Verbree; her grandchildren, Daniel, Brett, Samantha, Nathan, Scott, Joel, Lauren, Joseph, Rachel, Peter, Joshua; brother, Gary and Marcia Bos; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor Bos, Laverne Luurtsema, Milton and Gladys Essenburg, Arnold and Marilyn Essenburg, Janice Essenburg, Donald and Lois Essenburg, Joyce and Carl VanIngen, Richard Essenburg, Clifford and Julie Essenburg. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Bos and her twin sister, Karen Luurtsema. Carol was a dedicated homemaker, who kept a spotless house and served many hearty family meals in the course of raising four children. She supported and took great pride and joy in the accomplishments of her kids and grandkids. In her later years she enjoyed reading Christian novels and listening to Detroit Tiger baseball games on the radio.  Funeral services for Carol will be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 11 AM at Hanley Christian Reformed Church, 0-372 Jackson Street, Grandville, MI 49418 with Rev. Douglas Fauble officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Memorial contributions may be made to Hudsonville Christian School or Grandville Christian School.
