Carmen Iris Morales

Carmen Iris (Lebron) Morales, born June 8, 1945, in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022, with family surrounding her, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Her fight was strong and valiant, attributed to her strong personality throughout her life. She and her husband, Eufemio (Femio) moved to Chicago, IL from Puerto Rico, and began their family, later moving to Grand Rapids, MI to raise their family. She loved to dance, listen to music, and cook; but above all, she loved all the generations of family gathered at the house, especially Sunday dinners. Carmen was one of 14 siblings, and is preceded in her death by her parents Eugenio Lebron and Valentina Diaz; her husband, Eufemio Morales; daughter, Evelyn Morales; sister, Juanita Lebron; brothers, Juan Lebron, Luis Lebron, Candido Lebron,Ramon Lebron. She is survived by her children, Carlos (Marvonne) Morales; Carmen (Sue) Morales; Jose (Illiana) Morales; Noemi (Mike) Morales; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are: Agustin Lebron (Rosa); Silverio Lebron; Hilario Lebron (Emilia); Andres Lebron (Milagros); Milagros Lebron; Margaritas Lebron (Josue); Ana (Lebron) Mendez; and Luz Lebron. She had numerous nephews and nieces, whom she adored. Visitation with the family will be held at Stegenga Funeral Home, 3131 S. Division Ave, Wyoming, on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 10 to 11am. A Mass of Catholic Faith will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 3138 Birchwood Ave SW, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion.
