Carl Gene Vruggink, age 74, of Wayland, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 surrounded by his family.  Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Fran; children: Vicki and Rick Sweet, Doug and Dani Vruggink, Rod and Liz Glupker, Scott and Tammy Glupker, Todd Glupker; grandchildren: Mitchell and Kayle Sweet, Cameron and Ashley Sweet, Sara (fiancé Alan Haynes) Vruggink, Kyle Vruggink, Shayna Heydenburg, Trevor and Amelia Glupker, Kayla and Ryan VanLiere, Gage Glupker, Ryan Glupker, Lauren Glupker; and many great-grandchildren; sister, Janice and Harold Zwyghuizen; sisters-in-law, Jan Vruggink; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Minnie Vruggink; brother, Bob Vruggink.  According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Carl’s life will begin at 6:00 pm  on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th St., Hudsonville (Entrance C or D), with Rev. Shawn Hulst officiating. A time of visitation and refreshments will follow the service until 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to offset funeral expenses.
