Carl Steffen

Carl Anthony Steffen, age 72, went to be with Jesus in the Glories of Heaven on May 4, 2013. Carl was a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved antique tractor pulling and giving tractor rides to his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, and visiting over a cup of coffee. Although always a farmer at heart, Carl found his gift was working with people and made his living as a financial adviser in West Michigan for nearly 40 years. Carl accepted Christ as his Savior at age 19 and married Myrna Pashak from Kawkawlin, Michigan at the age of 22. They were married for 44 years and raised their 5 children on a small farm in Caledonia, MI. Preceded in death by wife, Myrna & a granddaughter, Molly Rose, and sister Donna. He is survived by his wife, Sue (Couturier Foreman); his five children: Terry (Laurie), Treasure Reynolds (Mike), Michelle Baumgartner (Brad), Jill Casper, and Mark (Stacey); 14 grandchildren; seven stepchildren, Chad, Todd (Jamie), Jesse (Melissa), Rebecca, Melissa, Nathan, and Mark; nine step grandchildren; brothers, Aaron and Tim, and sisters, Patricia and Kathy. The family will receive friends, Friday, May 10, 1PM to 3PM and 5PM to 7PM at the Stegenga Funeral Home, 1601 Post Dr. NE in Belmont, followed by a funeral service with Pastor Jerry Julian officiating. Also Saturday, May 11, 9:00-11:00 AM the family will host a brief reception at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall in Alto prior to a graveside service.
