Carl Sheehy

Carl Wayne Sheehy, age 79, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born October 26, 1942 in Auburn Heights, graduated from Avondale High School, and served in the United States Air Force. His Air Force career was spent at L.G. Hanscom Field in Bedford, Mass. Shortly after his honorable discharge in 1965, he married the love of his life, Connie Courser. Carl loved sports and especially playing golf; he and his best buddy, Al Cole, would play as often as they could. Carl had a big heart and loved to be able to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy (Johnson) Sheehy; siblings and in-laws, Emma (Jim) Wood, Jimmy Sheehy, Dorothy (Chet) Babb, Pat (Don) Crabtree, Opal Ogden, Betty (Bill) Cook, Sam Sheehy, Ken Sheehy, and George Montgomery. Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Connie; children, Tammy Hansen, Barbara (Scott) Antles; grandchildren, Rachel Hansen, Dallas Hansen, Jackson (Caitlin) Oke, Ashley (Andrew) Efting, Aubrey Antles, Alexis Antles, Ryan Antles; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Addison Efting; sister, Ruth Montgomery; sister-in-law MaryAnn Sheehy; and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Clyde Park Church of the Nazarene, 2545 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, 49509 with Rev. Ryan Quanstrom officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Clyde Park Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
