Carl Oudbier

May 12, 1947 ~
November 3, 2025

Carl Wayne Oudbier, age 78, of Grandville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2025. Carl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He and his beloved wife, Linda, were married on May 1, 1970, and shared a lifetime of love and adventure together. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he dedicated over 45 years to D&W / Family Fare, where he retired as a General Merchandise Manager. A true sports enthusiast, Carl loved cheering for the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and University of Michigan football. He especially enjoyed supporting his grandchildren, attending their games and celebrating their achievements. In his spare time, he could often be found bowling with his league, camping, or traveling across the country with Linda. Carl was known for his friendly nature and gift for connecting with people. He was a wonderful neighbor, co-worker, boss, brother, and friend—always ready with a story and a good sense of humor. He found peace in simple pleasures like spending time at the beach or reminiscing about his cherished childhood visits to his grandparents’ farm in Lamont. Faith was an important part of Carl’s life, and he served his church faithfully as both an elder and a deacon. He will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the love he shared with everyone around him. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 55 years, Linda Oudbier; children, Eric and Fran Oudbier, Ryan and Becky Oudbier; grandchildren, Caitlyn Oudbier, Olivia Oudbier, Owen Oudbier, Cali Phillips, Rachel Phillips, Lonna Phillips; sisters, Karen Oudbier, Marcia and Robert Zwart; niece and nephew, Cameron and Stephanie Zwart, Cassie and Jason Krajewski; and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Marcus Schmidt officiating. The burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 9, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Blood Cancer United
