Caitlin Marie Sall-Azevedo

Caitlin Marie Sall-Azevedo, age 24, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, and is resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Caitlin had a zest for life with her positive personality and a smile that could light up a room. She was a fierce warrior throughout her 9-year cancer journey and has now won her battle. Caitlin lived life to the fullest and displayed what it means to live in the moment. She was a nursing student at Boise State University and did cancer research during the summer while attending school. Caitlin was blessed with the gift of creativity, enjoyed cooking, and loved doing crafts. Above all, her love for her family, especially her niece and nephews was evident to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elwin and Helen Landstra; and her uncle, Denny Smith. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Nate Azevedo; parents, John and Mary Jo Sall; her brother and sister-in-law, Nate and Brandi Sall (Ford, and another soon to arrive son); her grandparents, Dale and Delores Sall; her parents-in-law, Henry and Kim Azevedo; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Trinity and Josh Blitt (Graham, Pierce, and Archer), Christian and Kelsie Azevedo (Kendall, and another soon to arrive son); many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 6475 40th Ave, Hudsonville, with Pastor Cory Nederveld officiating. The service will be available via livestream at http://www.georgetowncrc.org/caitlin. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation (https://www.spectrumhealth.org/foundation/helen-devos-childrens-hospital) or to Children With Hair Loss (http://www.childrenwithhairloss.us/). The family would like to thank Dr. Deanna Mitchell and the incredible staff on the 9th floor at HDVCH for the love and compassionate care given to Caitlin and also to the anonymous bone marrow donor from Japan who blessed Caitlin with this amazing gift.
