Burton L. Brown

BROWN – Burton L. Brown, aged 88 of Grand Rapids passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was born May 22, 1926. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan M. Brown; his daughters, Susan and Ted Carter of Tipp City, OH, Toni and John Christensen of Cincinnati, OH; sons, Rick Brown and Mary Ann Dark of Chelsea, MI, Jeff Brown and Susan Fortino-Brown of Chicago, IL; six granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Clements and Charlene Wiersum. Burt was a WWII veteran of the US Navy and was associated with the transportation industry for many years. At his request, his body was donated to MSU for research. A memorial service for Burt will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Woodview Christian Church, 3785 Woodview SW, Wyoming with Pastor Jon Stradtner officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to Woodview Christian Church or Alzheimer’s Association. (Envelopes will be available at the church.)
