Burnadette “Burnie” Knight

Burnadette “Burnie” Knight, age 92, of Hudsonville, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2017, with her family at her side. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that treasured her family. She enjoyed making crafts, travelling, camping, playing cards and games, and gardening.  Above all, Burnie took joy in making memories with those she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Eugene Knight; son, Greg Knight; her parents, Burdette and Myrtle Payne; brother, Thomas Payne; her sisters, Ethyl Mc Fadden, Myrtle Postema, and Dora Lienerth.  She will  be dearly missed by her children, Ed and Peggy Knight, Yvonne and Mike Akey, Sandra and Charles Vereecken, Tim and Kelly Knight; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; her sister, Velda Neville, her brother-in-law, Gerald Postema; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Pastor Jim Shemaria officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM  and Thursday from 10-10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Celebration Bible Church or Faith Hospice.
