Brian was a cousin of mine and I have a lot of fun memories when were younger. He loved to laugh and always seemed to have a smile on his face. He was a great guy and will be missed. He was all "Lubbers" ... My thoughts and prayers go out to Shawn and the family. Watched the memorial service via YouTube and it was a beautiful tribute.

Dear Shawn, Jordan, Christian & Bryce, I was so sorry to hear of Brian's passing when your Mom/Grandmother (my sis Rita Fiers) called me late Wed evening (9/15). Brian was such a loving and caring husband, dad and person to all. Cherish the memories, as they will comfort you through your time of sorrow. I will always remember and hold close my brief encounters with Brian on 3 of my visits back to Mich. from Minn. In June of 2012 for my Dad's (your Grandfather/Great Grandfather) funeral. His words of encouragement/consolation to me and his loving interaction with his boys at the time. In the late Summer of 2004 during my brief visit to your home. Bryce was just a months old with health issues. Brian was so kind and caring. The 3rd and fondest was in June of 1994. I was in town for my 25th Catholic Central High School reunion (staying at my Mom's house on Sylvan Ave in G.R.). A surprise get-together of family had been planned for me. I still remember it as if it were today! You and Brian were out in the front yard playing baseball catch (he was coaching you). Your interaction was so loving and caring, and he was such a kind "young gentleman" when we talked. I just knew he was the right person for you....you both became one on 11/5/94. I will always hold onto these cherished and fond memories of Brian. I know you have many more to comfort you now and forever beyond. Also, take comfort in the tributes, well wishes, thoughts and prayers offered up by the many friends of Brian and you. The following was on the funeral card for my cousin William C Wyte, Jr 4/1/2014 written by his sis Dr. Collette Wyte (Just wanted to share) God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you And whispered, "Come to Me". With tearful eyes wew watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us , He only takes the best. Brian, Rest in Peace in the Name of God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, Amen My Thoughts and Prayers are with you, Jordan, Christian & Bryce, Love Uncle/Great Uncle, Chris Tomasik Eagan, MN Brian, Rest in Peace in the Name of God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, A men.Thoughts & Prayers

My second year of little league baseball but most importantly, the year i learned to love the game itself. Brian was my coach. Not just a coach though. (Id later on in life realize he was more than that) he seen my potential and my willingness to learn, then went to work! He taught me the fundamentals of the game, how to stay cool when were up, and how to stay positive when we were down. He taught me how to love baseball. Its been about 15 or so years now but i still use every single thing he taight me on and off the field. I learned now that im an adult, that he was also a great mentor! I know he will always be with me on the diamond every single game yealling at me "EXTEND YOUR ARMS, STEP, AND FIRE!"

So sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. We coached several baseball teams together and our sons played ball together. I always enjoyed the conversations we had and I learned so much about baseball and coaching from Brian. He always treated all the kids like they were his own and wanted the best for all of them. He connected with the players so well. We will miss you man until we meet again.

I am right there with Michelle's above comments. The Skill Center bus rides were the greatest with Brian. Brian was always joking and making us all laugh. Brian had me laughing when he would make funny comments after we got back from Skill Center and all that was left every day was the cold left overs the lunch ladies saved for us. Rest in peace my friend. Shawn we have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Troy Klunder

Brian was our 1st cousin and we grew up together in Grandville. Brian would get into trouble as a youngster but he was a lot of fun! He was always happy and smiling, he was fun to be around and will be greatly missed by so many. Rest in peace after a long battle with an unforgiving disease.

Brian was a cousin of mine. Sunday night our parents would take turns going over to each other’s homes. He was always a quite little boy and great to play with. Families grow up and out of touch but always have great memories of when we were younger.
