Brenda Bussey, aged 55 of Walker, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Hellwig and mother, Elizabeth Poort. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole and Kyle Smith; grandchildren, Rylee and Wyatt Smith; father, Edward Bussey; sisters, Carmen and Ed Thomas, Dori and Mark Polites, Sara and Brian Shelton; and seven nieces and nephews. Brenda was an employee of Meijers for over 30 years. A memorial service for Brenda will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

I was a neighbor to the Bussey family up 1990 and knew Brenda well. She was a friend of my daughter, Pam, and she was a sweet lovely young lady. God bless her family in their time of loss.
