Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
Brenda Lee Belstra was born on November 4, 1959, in Fremont, Michigan, and passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Hudsonville, Michigan, surrounded by family.
Brenda was a deeply selfless mother and the kind of person people were lucky to know. Caring for others came so naturally to her that she often did it before anyone even realized they needed it.
Her love was thorough. She warmed towels in the dryer so they would be ready the moment you stepped out of the shower. She had food waiting before you could say you were hungry. She thought of the little things—quietly, constantly—because making people feel safe and cared for was simply how she loved.
Brenda cared for everyone—her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her friends, and anyone who needed her. She never made people feel like an inconvenience. There was always room for one more conversation, one more favor, one more act of kindness.
You could talk to Brenda about anything. She loved long phone calls with the people she loved—listening for hours, letting you vent, laughing together, and sometimes crying. She had a rare ability to make people feel understood, supported, and unconditionally loved.
She was the proud mother of four children and found her greatest joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She often said her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved them with her whole heart.
Brenda adored her beloved dog, Sadie, and had a busy, caring spirit that never allowed her to sit still for long. She was always willing to show up at a moment's notice, helping someone, or quietly making sure everyone around her was okay.
Brenda showed us what love looks like in the everyday moments—the small, thoughtful acts that make people feel safe and deeply cared for. Loving the way she loved is now something we carry with us, a reminder to show up for one another with the same patience, generosity, and unconditional care she gave so freely.
Brenda is survived by her devoted partner, Jeff Taylor; the father of her children, Steve Belstra; her children, Heather Gould, Leah Belstra, Steven Belstra, and Tara Belstra; as well as eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply loved by her.
