Brandon Uriel Tatroe

Brandon Uriel Tatroe, 27, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022. Brandon is survived by his wife, Courtney Tatroe, and their two children, Linkoln and Arya Tatroe; his parents, David and Robin Tatroe of Sparta; two brothers, Nicholas Tatroe (Megan Deater), and Shaun Tatroe, also of Sparta; nephews, Alexander Tatroe and Weston Deater; niece, Gabriella Deater; grandmother, Phyllis Yoder, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Courtney’s family loved Brandon as one of their own. He is also survived by his in-law family including: mother-in-law, Brenda VandeByl; step-dad, Charles VandeByl; father-in-law, Jeffrey Hulbert; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Hulbert II (Brittany Velte); two nieces, Braelynn Velte and Makenna Barry, and a nephew due to be born in July, Asher; and grandparents, Donald (Janice) Hulbert. Brandon is also surrounded by numerous friends, from school to work friends.

Brandon was a devoted husband to Courtney Tatroe, and they would have celebrated their 7th anniversary together this August. They blessed their families with two beautiful children, 2 1/2 year old son, Linkoln Uriel Tatroe, and 1 month old daughter, Arya Grace Tatroe. Together, they were a perfect, loving family.

Brandon was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He had an outgoing personality and loved to laugh, joke, play, and have fun! He could bring a smile to anyone he met. He was also hard working, strong, and willing to help anyone with whatever was needed. Brandon was very creative and passionate about many things! He shared his love for Star Wars with his wife Courtney, and passed it onto his children. For Linkoln’s first Halloween, Daddy turned a wagon into a starship fighter and Linkoln dressed up as Baby Yoda! Arya was due on May second, and Brandon really wanted her to wait until the fourth, just so he could announce her birth by saying “May the fourth be with you”. Yet her force was stronger than Brandon’s, because she was born a month early. Thank heavens that she was early so Brandon could have a little time with his daughter.

Brandon may not have been a certified video game designer, but he worked hard learning computer skills at school and had journals full of ideas and drawings. Playing video games with his friends and brothers was his favorite pastime. Brandon partnered with a friend and worked together on a podcast on Spotify about tabletop games called Epic Table Games Audio Show. He was in the process of creating a storyline for a tabletop game to include his wife, family, and friends.

Brandon and Courtney would spend their free time with their children making memories, and with family and friends. Brandon was loved by all and will be greatly missed. It is with love and support that this family will go on with their angel husband/daddy looking down from up above.

Funeral services will be held 12pm Thursday, May 26, 2022 at MKD Stegenga Funeral Home, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with Rev. Tom Skilling officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10-12. Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com.
