Bonita “Bonnie” Beerens

Bonita “Bonnie” Elaine Beerens, age 92, of Jenison, went to her eternal home on Easter morning, April 20, 2025. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband, Gord, and spent many winters in Florida, which she loved. Bonnie liked going on camping trips with her family and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed fishing with Gord, being on the water, or just relaxing on the beach at Lake Michigan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her free time, she also liked doing embroidery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Beerens; grandson, Ryan Faasse; and sister, Wanda DeJonge. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy and Marc Faasse, Jack and Linda Dekkinga, Brian and Sandra Dekkinga, Brent and Terri Beerens, Keith and Tammy Beerens, Michael and Kim Beerens; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Hofstee, Arlene Kuizema; brother-in-law, Roger and Linda Beerens; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Church, 6610 36th Ave., Hudsonville, with Rev. Shawn Hulst officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, April 27, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
