Bobby J. Dreyer, age 90, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 15, 2017. Bobby and his family started the first E-Unit in Grandville, using his vehicle, equipment and time. Bobby served the Grandville Fire Department for 38 years, as a firefighter and Lieutenant. He was a Cub Master, Scout Master and Grandville Fire Department Explorer Leader. He was a loving, involved family man who loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren camping, fishing, hunting and spending vacations at cottages on the lake. He instilled in his children a love of God and dedication to the church and community. Bobby valiantly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He was preceded in death by his son, David; granddaughter, Sara; and his brothers and sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Thelma; his children, Alan and Darlene Dreyer, Dorothy and Steve Lemmon, Daniel and Mary Dreyer, Vickey and Lee Kars, Bob Junior and Dee Dreyer, Susan and Brian McDonald, Kathy and Brett Prince; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter, and one great, grandchild on the way; sisters-in-law, Georgia Dreyer, Mary Dykhouse; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:00 PM at Grandville Jenison Congregational Church, 3900 Henry St. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Peter Kooreman officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and one hour prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Michigan or Lemmen Holton Cancer Center.

Sending ours prayers for comfort to all the Dreyers. I have many good memories of times spent with Bobs family. He was a great guy.
