Billy Meeks

Billy Frances Meeks, born January 10th, 1944 in Prestonburg, KY, passed away unexpectedly the morning of April 13th, surrounded by his loving family and his faithful companion Buck. Billy and his wife of 50 years, Jeanene Meeks, lived a good life, although not always easy. He knew the meaning of hard work and was an excellent provider for his family. He proudly served in the US Army from 1961-1965. After the military, and while in the roll of Union Negotiator, he was asked to manage a plant for Thornapple Valley. He successfully managed that role for 20 years and semi-retired as a butcher for Family Fare before fully retiring. In his retirement he loved to thrift shop, go to garage sales and out to eat with his wife. Bill, with his wife Jeanene, touched many people's lives, always behind the scenes, but the family and friends that were lucky enough to have them in their corner were changed for the better. Billy was preceded in death by his son, Tracey; daughter, Stacey; his grandson, Joshua; his parents, Forrest and Maxine Meeks; his brothers, Ricky, John Phillip and Vernon Meeks and his sister, Helen Watkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanene Meeks; his sons, Kevin (Amy) Meeks and Briens (Katherine) Sweers; his daughter, Kerri Majszak; his sisters, Sandy Conley and Susie Blaire; his brothers, Ernielee and Junior Meeks; his many grandchildren, great grandchildren.
