Beverly Koetje

Beverly Ann Koetje, age 73, of Belding, God called her home on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Beverly was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She found great joy in quilting and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Family meant everything to Bev—she deeply cherished the time they shared and the memories they created together. She had a special passion for garage sales, always excited to find a hidden treasure and share her latest bargain with loved ones. Bev also enjoyed camping and found peace and happiness by the lake. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rev. Al Hoogewind, Donald Hoogewind, and Barbara Hoogewind; and sister-in-law, Norma Hoogewind. She will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 54 years, Larry Koetje; children, Ginger and Charles Elsenheimer, Robert and Rachelle Koetje, Timothy and Rose Koetje, David Koetje; nine grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Peggy Hoogewind, Randy and Teri Hoogewind, Roger and Sandy Hoogewind, Coral Hoogewind, Linda Hoogewind; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lori and Steve Smit, Linda and Donald Brown; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 2, 2025, at New Community Church, 2340 Dean Lake Ave NE, Grand Rapids, 49505 with Pastor Lew VanderMeer officiating. Burial will take place at Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday, May 1 from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Friday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service.
