Beverly Jean Benscoter

Beverly Jean Benscoter, age 87, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Decatur, Illinois, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Beverly loved MSU and attending her grandchildren’s many sporting events. She was a longtime member of Kentwood Christian Church, especially serving in the nursery/children’s ministry. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Debra and Robert Deiss, Jeffrey Benscoter; grandchildren: Melissa and Phil Crabtree, Matthew (Sara Wolcott) Benscoter, Christopher and Taylor Deiss, Daniel Deiss; great grandchildren: Leyland Benscoter and one on the way; brother, Michael and Jeanne Irby; many niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jean Irby. According to her wishes, Beverly chose to donate her body to her beloved MSU. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood.
