The love of my life died today. In our 65 years of marriage, we raised three wonderful sons together. We argued and fought, laughed and cried over silly things. We will miss her wisdom and wit, compassion and love. We endured life and our love for her will last. Sleep well my love. I will never leave you, Greg. Beverly was the oldest daughter of Margaret and Oscar Stroud (both deceased) of Charlevoix, MI. She graduated in the Charlevoix High Class of 1951 and married her classmate and high school sweetheart, Greg Bryan, on April 5, 1952. Beverly is survived by her husband, Gregory; three sons, Greg (Brenda) Bryan, Geoffrey L. Bryan, Gordon (Linda) Bryan; grandchildren and their significant others, Spencer (Katie Colvin) Bryan, Weston Bryan, Curt (Ashley) Bryan, Katlyn (Marcus) Bryan-Ribant; great-grandchildren, Ilah Bryan, Monroe Bryan, Braylen Phillips; sister, Linda (Richard) Berglund; brother-in-law, Richard (Nola) Bryan; sister-in-law, Bonita Strong; nieces and nephews and their significant others, Richard (Rachel) Berglund, Jennifer Berglund, Bernie (Barbara) Bryan, Ken (Karen) Bryan, Todd (Victoria) Bryan, Lance (Colleen) Bryan, Gretchen Walters, and Katrina Jeffreys. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, Beverly and Greg’s 65th wedding anniversary, at 11:00 am at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Avenue SW, Grandville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wyoming Senior Center, Wyoming Public Library, City of Wyoming Tree Commission, Humane Society of West Michigan, or any animal rescue of your choice.

One memory I have of Beverly (which is the first time I haven't called her Mrs Bryan) is when she was playing some 1970's version of trivial pursuit with Greg and a couple of adult friends at their dining room table. The question was what is Andre Previns wife's name. I was passing through the house and said Dory. Beverly said " How do you know that?" I said "I don't know I just do". Truth is I don't know, I probably just read the names at some time and assumed they were related. But she always viewed me with a little suspicion after that. I thought she was great. Classy and smart. Gordy and I used to hang out a lot then. I don't know why that sticks out in my memory but I can see it like it was yesterday. I was barely a teenager, Greg and Beverly were in their 30's, everyone was young and life was good.
This also makes me think of when Greg was our boy scout leader. I hope he knows what an impact he made on our young lives and considers that time well spent.

The heavens are brighter with another angel. Our hearts are darkened at our loss. Somewhere, there is a place in the middle where we find peace and the love of God that helps us go on. One fine day, we all will be together again with our loved ones who have gone on before us. Until that day, keep the faith and know that she is not gone, just away from you for a little while.

Dear Bryan family, please except my deepest condolences for the loss of your dear loved one Beverly. May Jehovah, the God of all comfort, (2Corintians 1:3,4) comfort you in your time of need. His word assures us at Isaiah 33:24 that one day there will be no more sickness and at Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:4, that one day death will be no more. At John 5:28,29, Jesus himself said that there will be a resurrection of those loss in death. And Psalms 37:29 guarantees that they will live again on a cleansed earth. Please read the cited scriptures so as to be encouraged and if you would like to learn more, please visit jw.org. My prayers are with you.
