Betty Wiersma

Betty Edna Wiersma, age 95, of Allendale, was welcomed into her heavenly home with the love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her mission of keeping the world wrapped warmly in quilts ended on Thursday, June 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter in 1998; her parents, Arie and Alice Potgeter; daughter-in-law, Barb Wiersma; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hermina and Marv Geurink, Catherine VanderLugt, and Cora and Herm Bussis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John Blauwkamp, Joe Wiersma, Cora and Pete Martinie, Agnes and Frank Moll, Ruth and Ray Lamar, Richard and Aleda Wiersma. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ken Wiersma, Karen and Rod Moore; grandchildren, Brian and Karla Wiersma, Brenda Wiersma, Chris and Sara Moore, Jason and Jenny Moore; great grandchildren, Hunter, Jacob, and Connor Wiersma, Carley Moore; sisters and brother-in-law, Frieda Blauwkamp, Marie and Ade Geurink; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Fred VanderLugt, Wilma Wiersma, Jeanette Wiersma, Jay and Bev Wiersma; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at First Allendale Christian Reformed Church, 5734 Country View, Allendale, with Rev. Tim Howerzyl officiating.  Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to First Allendale Christian Reformed Church Mission Fund.
